GRADUATION SYSTEM
At our competitions, we follow the standard IBJJF graduation system for all belt and age divisions. This ensures consistency and fairness across events. Our tournament software Smoothcomp, also uses this same system to manage brackets and athlete eligibility.
Juvenile 1
According to IBJJF rules, any competitor turning 16 in the calendar year of the event must compete in the juvenile division and can only register as a white, blue, or purple belt.
If an athlete was previously graded as grey/white or higher in the kids belt system, they must be officially promoted to blue or purple by their coach to compete.
If you have turned or are turning 16 this year, you’ll need to update your belt level to blue or purple on your Smoothcomp profile before registering for any competition.
